Introduction to my blog

This past week, I happened upon an article about a bucket list for those about to turn 70. One of those items was to start a blog. I was curious as to what was involved with such a venture, so I am experimenting. I believe I have some knowledge to share – I have been retired since 2019. I have a husband battling liver disease, awaiting a transplant. And I have my beloved pets (14 cats – 10 indoor and 4 in my feral compound outdoors plus 4 dogs including two 2 year old Golden Retrievers), hence the name of this blog. I have quite a menagerie.

I am a scientist – a retired geophysicist from the oil industry -I worked for Chevron, Mobil and ExxonMobil for a combined 35 years. I was an adjunct instructor after retiring from ExxonMobil in 2015 for 4 years and taught Developmental Math and Introductory Physics.

My interests here in the Ruby Ranch subdivision are my pets, gardening, socializing with a great group of neighbors and taking care of my husband and home. I enjoy cooking with my home grown herbs and tomatoes. I have much to share about my husband’s liver transplant journey.

I am also involved with the Commemorative Air Force and serve as the Finance Officer for the Gulf Coast Wing. So, I am realizing as I write this how busy I really am. On the other hand, some days I am just happy to walk the Goldens, do my treadmill training and relax with old reruns.
